The timeline at the beginning confused me a bit. Kylie and Gideon I can understand because they were younger in the first book (Practical Magic). But Antonia confuses me a bit. Her little triangle/square is a little ...I need more answers how that happened. Sally's I can understand, since she closed off again after losing Gary.

Alright, I can't wait to see the sequel (even if it's altered from the book, I can see the source material in it), because I just love the intricacies of the relationship between family members. (But I swear, I wish Kylie gave the book to Frances instead of taking it on herself. But same time... anyway I'm curious.)

It is absolutely time to reread this. This time, Imma read the sequel (after I reread this) first before watching the movie. Whether Practical Magic 2 is good or not, I will probably enjoy it because I love the first one so much.

Okay, good, this is giving me wholesome, fun, and light vibes. Just what I need after my last heavy read. Please, yes, give me a cute romance at the end (I need one after the last book I read.)

The idea behind this is interesting.

Started it two days ago, for a challenge. Didn't really think about its contents. Apparently this is a vamp book, which, is not really my thing. But anyway.

One girl is endlessly hungry (she's unlikeable, but villain quality.)
One girl is a mystery (disappears after a one night.)
One girl is accidentally turned vampire (her head is like a rollercoaster explosion of regret and grief. It's a bit exhausting.)

Okay this book has caught me. I always did like a good time loop story (groundhog day trope). Let's see where this goes.

This should have been called 'Owen adores Una'.

I love a good time travel.

I love the kind of cold (?) warfare born of greed for power that Vivian is doing as far as I can tell.

But this is a slog.

Owen and Una sound the same. Just different backstories. It's irritating because when it comes to using 1st and 2nd pronouns, you need a distinction in voice. There isn't one. (Maybe the ending will change my mind.)

Malek is great.

Oh. Oh what was that with Jak and Rivlina??

Ahaha I think Malek and Jak have the most interesting interactions. Among several others

Also, I think the relationship/mentorship between Malek and Jak is fascinating. Malek probably won't be able to help himself...

But welllll I do like how strongly the "enemy" side of tropes like enemies-to-lovers or enemy-to-friends is coming through in a very digestible way.

Tonovan is a real ass. But he's so good at being an a-hole that I can't hate him. I do hate him, but he also lights up the page with his a-holey.

Tonovan is disgusting.
Malek is interesting.

It does take me a little by surprise that we're getting both Jadora and her son's, Jak's perspectives.

But. Well. I'm kinda hooked again...

The beginning has been unexpected for me so far, and I will admit I picked this Buroker series to read next because apparently there's an enemy-to-lover relationship somewhere in it, and I was in the mood for that before my vacation. So I shall see where this trope shows up xD

Finally reading this properly after my vacay

I missed all these characters, since they were absent in the last book!

This dude that just appeared is suspicious as hell. Azzy and Jaxi (and Trip) are right. What are you doinnggggg Rysha??

Also the mystery around this gold dragon that is related to Trip is intriguing me. A lot.

Why does Dreyak have more chemistry with the main characters (mainly platonic) than Rysha has with Trip.

Also, while I understand Rysha's fear, Trip stopped. He hates it more than anyone else. But well, Rysha can't read his mind, so I also can't blame her for not knowing the depth of Trip's thoughts. I just wish she acknowledges Trip stopping her. (I still am not a fan of them as a couple, but Trip is great!!!)

I'm not a huge fan of Rysha. She has these little moments which... welll.........
