I’m not enjoying this, just full of normalising bad and aggressive sex in a way that’s meant to seem ‘deep’ but just comes off as icky labelling it as “ordinary intercourse”, with very little of what the blurb stated it was about

“There was more or less ordinary intercourse; arousal, aversion, soreness”

Athos is the worst

Unfortunately feeling quite repetitive and samey at the moment

Honestly very enjoyable for what it is - it was a welcome departure following a ya lead who was, in her own words, a “coward”, and the world building was good (if nightmare inducing).

Much prefer this to the previous installment!

It’s fine I just wished I cared slightly more

I wish I could feel more invested in this

This reads more like fantasy than historical fiction
