This is easily becoming one of the top books I’ve read this year. Although I am taking my time getting through this book, it takes the reader through so many different settings. A lot has happened in the last 10% of the book I have read so far. Excited to read the remaining 40%!

Easy breezy beach read that's very YA, but whatever. The nostalgia! I'm watching the show and wanted to compare against the original work.

His poem "off and on" and even "inactive volcano" suggests he had bipolar/manic depressive tendencies. I'M CALLING IT NOW. It practically screams it.

Poems "begging" and "be kind" have stood out the most thus far.

Read + live tweeted 30 pages of reading the other night. I never want these notebooks to end. I'm drinking in every word and it is nourishing my will to exist another day. Now for another 30-or-so-pages.

It has been a slow reading month. However, when I do fit in time to read, it is Albert Camus' notebooks that never fail to bring insightful passages. I find myself cherry picking single sentences that will stay with me forever. >> "An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself." <<

Nietzsche's poetry in the first portion of the book is so bad, it's good. But in a weirdly entertaining way.

There's a decent chunk of DFW and David Lipsky talking about films / directors between my last update (p150) and now (p210).
