Restarting my marathon through the entire Star Wars: The High Republic books by rereading this first book (and the only one I’ve actually read)

This is technically my second reading, but I initially read this separately as the 2 volumes Apprentice & Master back in May 2022.

I was going to wait for my physical copy before reading, but I couldn’t wait anymore so ebook it is. I’ve just read through books 2-5. I will read this first then go for my second reading of The Long Game.

A little over half the book, and I feel like nothing has really happened yet.

Four chapters in and I am already annoyed by the main character. She is just so whiny. Does not bode well for me liking the book.

There’s just something about this series that is really vibing with me.

Part one done and it is fantastic

I’m still iffy about. I feel like I was bait-and-switched after part 1

Loving this. I was charmed. Might need to purchase the rest of the series.

For a book called Problematic Summer Romance, I was expecting something more problematic and taboo. So far it’s just kinda bland.

It’s *whisper* kind of boring.

I’m finding the sequences in the past a lot more interesting than the present. There’s just no tension.

I’ve read the rest of the Witcher series and didn’t particularly like them, and this new prequel isn’t really changing my mind. The only reason I own and am reading this is because it was forced on me by a subscription (The Broken Binding’s new SF&F sub).
