Happy spooky season

And incredibly French book so far. Nihilism, despair, the lost soul of Simone de Beauvoir

The ending is going to determine a lot

audiobook narrator so good I didn’t even mind Nazi Germany somehow being introduced to this incredibly high-fantasy world

Didn’t realize how much I had missed Mark Lawrence’s writing until I got back into it.

Interesting

Willing to admit i would have loved this in high school

Narratively it feels like we should be nearing the end but somehow we’re only halfway through the book.

I’m not opposed to reading YA at this point in my life but I fear urban fantasy is not really that appealing to me.

So when do I get to know what this book is about

?????????

This should be a tv show

I don’t know why I always assumed this was set in modern times?? It’s not but I’m not mad at it.

I love reading books written by journalists pt. 2

Not to be cynical but I thought maybe all the glowing praise for this book would be a case recency bias but message aside (and the message is great, mind you), this is (so far) also just an incredibly well-constructed collection of essays both in their individual writing and how they’re edited together.

Yeah

Pray for me

Really good so far.
