Time for my annual read.

a student recommended this so i will give it a whirl. i love it when students are passionate about reading. =)

nope, not happening. the main character is entirely too much for me to handle right now. i'll try this again in a few years.

This book reached inside of me and plucked all of the right chords. The honesty, complexity and vulnerability of the main character was almost better than sitting down with an old friend. This book is a treasure and I am so happy it found me when it did.

this book was combative and at times uncomfortable to read. i believe that the pair was mismatched and too many times no common ground could be reached. it was very thought provoking and the ideas that were expressed were very important, but the constant battles and misunderstandings between walker and giovanni made this more uncomfortable than enjoyable.

This story was beautiful. Haunting and raw and most of all human. My summer/fall of Toni is off to an amazing start.
