Thinking of quitting this book. The main character is naive to the point of unbelievable and the mixed perspectives in the 3rd person omniscient point of view aren’t working. It’s distracting.

Engaging from the start. Makes Twain look foolish and dumb.

The writing is not good. The change in Arlen, basically turning him from mysterious hero to redneck hero with his sudden adoption of accent is terrible. Like total crap. It hurts my brain to read it.
