I actually started reading this last night, and I don't have the book in front of me so my progress is an estimate. I'm really struggling with the implausibility of this book. Not the plot, but the characters and their actions are not sitting right with me at all.

While I am enjoying this, I feel like something is missing. I’m laughing here and there, but I feel like I should be having more fun.

I’m only halfway through and this is already the best book I’ve read all year.

I feel like I’ve been reading this book for years and I’m only a quarter through. 😩

Interesting premise, but the story is lagging.

Dull, dull, dull. I’m trying really hard not to give up, but everything is so flat. Ugh!

This is kinda terrible.

Quick observation: the heroine is black but the cover shows a white woman. This is going to bother me.

I thought I was just restless, but this is kinda boring. 1/3 way through and I feel no connection to either character.

I’m just not seeing it. How did this win? First of all it’s third person, which is just wrong. Secondly, it’s so sloooooow.

Henna is losing me with all her immaturity. She’s supposed to be 19 but she reads like a petulant 12 year old.

I really like Henna, but I don’t appreciate how she’s constantly putting this man’s livelihood in jeopardy to feed her desires.
