Big fan of Kate Atkinson and this does not disappoint so far.

Just finished the first chapter. A lot of description and the murder has happened. Can’t believe how compelling this is with so little detail so far of the actual murders. Makes you feel like you are living in the town as things unfold

How welcome it is to read a good author once again

So much to consider. This book is dry at times but still so interesting to see how religious biased views change how we perceive things. Our way of thinking of the past has changed so much and we take it for granted to have always felt that way

Quietly progressing. Can’t believe this was written by a 15 year old.

So 80’s. just read a book a actually written at this time to see how things really were

Another character - sgt troy - has entered more loudly into the story. Don’t know think he will be likeable but he is charming to Bathsheba so far - but do we forget about fanny?
