I lost several people within a short period of time a couple of years ago, and I'm still processing everything that happened, and ultimately who I am as a person.

This year I'll be reading a lot more of these types of books as I continue on this journey.

Another great book in one of my favourite genres.

Starting 2026 off strong.

I think this is the right book?

My kindle version is simply called: "The Chibineko Kitchen"

Absolute lol.

This is a collection of short stories, interwoven around the vanishing cherry blossom bookshop.

Story one was deeply personal. It made me reflect on the passing of my mum.

Story two, straight away - another highly personal, and emotional story.

I think this book was trying to find me. Lol.

The first chapter was a very difficult, but rewarding read for personal reasons

Excited where this book may lead.

Super light, nice progression with each story. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I loved the first story in this book. The second is a wee bit wobbly, but it's a great premise!

I cannot remember where, but at some point i read that an alarming amount of self help books are just variations of "7 habits of highly effective people"

I hope that this isn't "circle of influence and circle of control" stretched out to fill an entire book. We'll see! :)

An iffy statement here and there can't detract from how great this book is. Thoroughly enjoying it.

This is going to go one of two ways....

Started off fantastically strong.

Lingered on Musk and now Trump for far, far too long.

There's something about the author's style that just grabs me, despite this not being the type of book I would normally pursue.

The Travelling Cat Chronicles is one of my favourite books, and this book has me wanting to re-read it, in the best way.

Tough reading, for a multitude of reasons.
