Some parts of the author's message get repetitive (Aristotle vs. Plato), but the details of the history of philosophical, religious, and scientific worldviews are very interesting - especially if you have heard of or studied some of the other "names" in other readings.

It is an interesting read, and possibly easier in observation to read the comparisons than to read through the original treatises. However, considering the other comments posted my experience so far would be to confirm that there is a lot of "loose play" and unfounded conjecture for many of the conclusions from the author. We know that some people's ideas (or actions) did have profound impact on subsequent history.

Good, solid mystery. Slogging police interview work leads to bits and pieces that finally start to come together. A nice bit of a break from the long trails of victims in the other books. Still, the panicking murderer begins to kill more in an attempt to eliminate leads - having the opposite effect, of course.

So far, this one is more of a comedy or parody of the series than a serious crime drama! GREAT FUN!

So far, not as bad as I feared. The interleaved plots are interesting, but the antagonist is still unbelievable, even as an evil villain. The fun stuff is just how Davenport reacts to situations.

Police comment on an 82 year-old man on the lam (paraphrased): "Maybe he's not suffering dementia. Maybe he really is a clever, trained operative on one last noble mission."
That's How I'd like people to confuse my mental state. :D

Picked up on Brucie's recommendation. So far, an excellent tale! Complex, yet compelling.
