The errors in this book are a bit distracting, but it is still a good read.

Noting more errors in this than I had in the previous books 😕

Are there any likeable characters in this book, outside of Allie? And to be honest, I am unsure of her too

Almost halfway through the book and I just am not feeling it. I'm not sure if it is the plot or the characters themselves, but this just isn't turning out to be a won for me. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and see how the second half plays out, but if it doesn't pick up soon, I might set it aside to finish later.

Going to ask the question others have asked: who edited this book? More to the point, was it even edited? It feels rushed, incomplete in some areas, skipping in others,stating facts like we need to be told what happened, and it's just a mess.

Bicker, bicker, bicker. Accuse, accuse, accuse. Do nothing. Same bullshit over and over. Break a fucking window and get the fuck out, damn idiots. You're so hung up about money you don't give a shit about the dead? REALLY?! Fuck this.

Well, my heart, which was already broken from losing a friend to cancer, is now broken over reading about Mushi. As someone who has a cat that is 17, and is dreading the day I have to say goodbye to her, this chapter is just making me cry non-stop. Damn it, Randy. 😭

I feel like I have jumped back in time to my childhood. Showtunes were and still are my escape from the real world (along with books and video games). I am enjoying this immensely right now, and so need this read.

Up until this point I was willing to overlook the minor errors in the text, but when the editing notes clearly make it into the book, there's clearly a problem with the file that was sent to print. I don't know if the author or publisher is aware of this, but I sure noticed it. I know a track change comment when I see one.

Add Nightmare on Elm Street to the list of movie nods. Just two more to figure out.

So, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Scream are what I can easily identify so far. The other three I'm not entire sure of. There are a couple films I could lean toward, but a couple more clues would be good before I say for sure. Also, Knights in White Satin made me giggle. :)

This is supposed to be a horror novel? I'll give props for the nod to horror movies from the 80's & 90's (and 70's even), but where's the actual edge of your seat fear inducing moments? I'm questioning the narrator's sanity, whether she's reliable. I've yet to find anything that creeps me out. And honestly, I find this campy as hell so far. I agree with one reviewer who said this would make a better movie than novel.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish this one. It is not holding my interest and it feels so off from the other two booms in the series.

Why do I feel like I'm missing a bunch of information? There isn't a book between this and the last one I read, but it feels like something is missing here. Grrr...

Holy hell what a ride. LOVED this book. Need to read her other novels, no question!
