My 10th grade students begged me to get this book. They kept asking me why I didn't have the series for our classroom library. Interesting premise so far. I'm glad it has some of my reluctant readers reading. Now I'll have to scrounge up the rest of the series.

It got a bit slow. Still fabulous writing though. I love the author's attention to detail and I enjoyed the budding relationship between Wendy and Pete. Finally at chapter 18 things pick up and the truth is starting to come out.

Liked the opening chapters but they felt a bit long. Good sports descriptions. Not really interested in the scene where they meet and seeing as that is the crux of the book, I probably should be. It just feels...drawn out? Not really sure but it isn't meeting my expectations.
