This book is heartbreaking and deeply triggering and so fucking accurate. My heart hurts.

I'm reading this to my love so it will be a long journey to completion. I love getting to share Terry Pratchett with the love of my life!

Reading aloud with my partner and we were feeling so bad because I couldn't stop mocking the writing while reading. Did some digging and this is definitely AI generated drivel. Now we're reading it together without guilt to play up the ridiculousness. We'll see how far we actually get in the book.

Quite out of date but I'm having fun walking in circles and reading during lunch breaks. It's nice to imagine cryptids in this world and try to retain some semblance of wonder when it feels like everything else is burning.

This looked really badass but just felt like a childs early reader book. Just didn't have it in me to power through with my disappointment.

I truly wish I would have read this book when it was recommended to me. I feel like I would have loved it. Now I feel like I am slogging through something that just feels pretentious and misogynistic. It's weird to read a book and find yourself bored, annoyed, and melancholic for a past version of oneself loss of enjoyment. C'est la vie.

Showed promise, but the ending was so abrupt and open-ended that I was left more annoyed than intrigued. Still, I searched the author and found nothing more about this being a part of a series and know I'll forget this story by the morning without seeing the potential for more.

Honestly this was abysmal. The writing was utterly awful and the character development was a joke. I kept reading in the hopes that it would get better and it somehow kept disappointing me in new ways. This would have been more accurately named, "I'm Not Like Other Girls".

Thoroughly entertaining, but required so much suspension of disbelief, and none of that had to do with the fantastical setting. I'm intrigued to see what the author does with a longer format.

Think I'm going to start over and listen to the audiobook. I'm having a hard time keeping track of who is who so hopefully that will help. Worth a shot at least since I'm absolutely loving it!

Not sure if I am taking a break or just quitting. Just can't seem to get into this and there are tons of reviews that say the same.

I don't know why this feels like an uphill battle to finish this book. It has all the right elements, and they all seem so good, but man, am I struggling to read this book.

I took many notes because so much of this story felt uncomfortable to me. There were great lines and ideas, but overall, the emotional immaturity of the heroine, her dishonesty, the lack of conversation in consent, and more, just felt wrong.

I love stories of grumpy folx with a heart of gold full of love! I cared about the characters and was proud of the growth that happened for the heroine, but less so for our hero being willing to set aside learned relationship hard limits. Between that and the jump from two years pining to her being so demanding in "bed" felt forced.

Cute story. I love the student/teacher dynamics but felt a bit weird about the actual romance bit. Loved the consent convo, but it came a little later than I would have liked with the discomfort that was happening.

Only Yours by Sabrina Sol
- Cute beginning and fun shenanigans. The sexy spicy stuff, however, felt out of character, too fast, not organic, and left me with an ick factor. I was disappointed in that but left wishing for the best for these fictional characters.

Make the Yuletide Gay by Adriana Herrera
- Now, this wlw steamy story will kick start your libido and certainly make your Christmas Eve hella merry if you also read it aloud to your partner!! The story also feels organic and gives you a reason to believe in their love and potentiality for a truly happily ever after.

Trying to get this one done today since I found out I'll be meeting the lovely writer tomorrow and doing a book signing. No more want to read, and soon yes to having read it!

Curses! Why am I a part of a book club that reads 50% and discusses?? Soooooo goooooooood! Only reason I didn't finish it within 2 days.
