The premise of this book had so much promise, but the first half has felt like such a slog. I'm not sure what it is, but it's just not landing right.

Feeling really frustrated with the explicit US focus of the information. I was really hoping that this would be more generalised, more about personal experiences. But there is a huge section in the middle completely focused on US law, US politics, US religion, and US military. Just not what the cover and blurb led me to expect. Hoping the last sections are a little more applicable to non-US experiences.

I am really loving this book. It's not perfect, but it is an important contribution to discussions around sexuality.

Terrible cover - it does absolutely zero justice to the content. I don't know what they were thinking! It makes it look like she's having a series of sexcapades travelling through Europe. Not the collection of non-fiction essays it actually is.

I've decided to set my Goodreads reading challenge goal to 1 this year. I'm taking this idea from Ariel Bissett as a way to take the pressure off reading this year. The whole world is a bit upside down, my study hours are long, and my work hours longer. So I am just going to read what I can, no goals this year.
