Does Titus EVER take off his sunglasses? It's KILLING me this man just constantly has reflective aviators on everywhere he goes, like idk if it's supposed to be funny but it's extremely funny.

So far I hate this, it's deeply millennial and embarrassing, also podcasters are almost all embarrassing, and why can nobody write a platonic relationship between heterosexual people of the opposite sex without making it fuckin weird...I don't know if I'll finish this but I'll stick with it to see if it improves.

This is really good so far, I hope it sticks the landing.

I don't remember Lourey's writing being this bad in her previous books, but maybe I was too zooted on edibles to notice before.

I cannot fully describe how much I despise the husband in this novel. What an absolute whiny chode. Fingers crossed he dies or something in the end.

This is not at all what I thought it was going to be in the best way possible. So far, this rules.

I am really enjoying Quartey's Emma Djan series, and I'm happy that he has another series as well I can start when I'm caught up on this.

I love how Malcolm Fox becomes a greasier asshole through every Rebus book.

This is actually way creepier than I anticipated so far. A good late night winter read.

I'm kind of hating this and thinking about ditching it. I really enjoyed Cutter's previous stuff but this is very "hello fellow kids" coded and it's kind of embarrassing. I actually checked to make sure it wasn't intended for a young adult audience (if it was, it was still condescending as fuck and bad) but no, it's for adults.

Can't say I recommend this so far, it's disgustingly visceral and the narrator is a convicted pedophile, although the book certainly isn't trying to hold him up as a "good guy" by any means, but rather showing his perversity and pathetic attempts to rationalize it - BUT my final judgment will depend on the ending.

I enjoy what this book is about, but the shoehorned romance and complete lack of any kind of mature and effective communication between the main characters is beginning to really put me off. I still haven't read a book that portrays a friendship between a man and a woman as normal, and doesn't even mention sex. It's just so tired, man. I went in loving this and it's burning me out

I've been enjoying reading Garry Disher's detective series lately. None of them are absolutely mind-blowing but they are enjoyable reads and character-driven, with decent plots. Aussie crime fiction is pretty good.

I can't get over how involved van Heerden's mom is in his life, he's nearly 40

So far I love how this is skewering the "True Crime" industry from all angles.

So far there is WAY too much talk about 12 year old boy boners to a point where I'm uncomfortable. I know the book is about young boys coming of age and a child predator but holy shit, this gives Stephen King a run for his money. Like, the sheer AMOUNT of it seems unnecessary? Do we require a child boner per page as adults to comprehend puberty?

So far this is a pretty unique read, a mix of body horror, science-fiction horror, and a bit of a (murder?) mystery. I'm digging it so far, it's cool and unexpected.

This isn't so much about a haunted house as it is about creepy, violent, possessed puppets but I'm not complaining. As usual it's been great and hilarious at times. Unexpected, but fun so far.
