not good :( the author decided to intersperse the book with vignettes of one of, for me the most boring things to read about, her life under lockdown. and she also complains a lot about writing the essay but in a way that doesnt come across with some self referential writerly charm. disappointing because this film was important to me.

marge piercey is really well intentioned but the way she writes this character as mexican can be so cringe wahhh and i dont think you should only write from your own experience its just very like ‘ahh mi amor i miss tacos <3’
