I don't know how I stumbled into this series and author but I'm glad I did. I cannot put this down. I resent every moment I have to spend on something else. And I will regret that I finished it so fast.

I checked this out of the library on a whim and it was a mistake. It is beautifully written but just not my sort of thing at all.

I've interrupted reading for watching TV and knitting so yeah - not so thrilled. It's taking all I've got to read to the end, hoping to find what's actually thrilling about this.

OK, I admit at this point I'm having trouble finishing this. It's well written but it's a kind of weirdness I don't generally read. It so slow that even 65% in, I'm not sure what's going on, where it's going, or if there's even a point. Which raises the question as to what's the point of finishing it.

I'm already losing interest in this book and having difficulty pushing myself to keep reading. I keep thinking (hoping) it will get better, but something tells me it won't. It's a plod: tedious, boring, and unbelievable. I'm going to take a break from it and hope it reads better when I get back to it.

This is interesting subject matter but an extremely difficult read because it's all over the place. I'm not even sure what the main story is because there are so many offshoots into other locations, a variety of serial killers and suspected serial murders. It doesn't take long to figure out that if a new location or killer is mentioned, the author will be off and running with a detailed history and/or explanation.

I might have to take a break from this series. I'm getting really annoyed with Vickie-the-Enabler. Not that she's the worst enabler on the reservation - she's just the one most in the forefront.

I'm not sure I can finish this novel. I haven't given up yet, but finishing it isn't the first thing I consider when I have a few minutes, and when I do read it my attention wanders and I'm frustrated because there are so many things wrong. I shall endeavor to continue slogging for at least another 10%.

Wow. I knew the US had its nose in everybody's business, but until I started reading this book, I didn't realize the extent. Americans need to wake up.

If I haven't already read this book (and somehow failed to include it in my Goodreads bookshelves), then I've read one remarkably similar to it. Determining this may drive me a little crazy.

I can't put this down. I agree with other readers - if you think justice is blind (or even just), you need to read this book.

I'm struggling with this one. I hope the original version in French is better, and the stilted language is due to translation. I am having to lecture myself to keep reading it and not sure if that's going to be successful for much longer.

Every time I think I can't take one more page of the florid prose that eats up about 75% of the words in this story, the story takes a turn that keeps me reading. But I resent having to slog through the unnecessary wordiness. Then again, without it, this would be just a novella.
