lol this is so stupid

30 pages in and I'm am HOOKED

I'm mostly done with this first volume and I'm loving this! Love the characters and the art style. It's really unique.

In addition to the bad grammar, the female main character is really bringing this book down for me. Romance authors stop writing ditzy spineless female characters challenge! It's not cute or relatable for funny, it's misogynistic as fuck! Stop!

Ngl, the grammatical errors in literally every paragraph are driving me up the wall. This book desperately needs some professional editing.

I'm not loving this at all lol

The main character is *insufferable*. And she and the husband are iritatingly impulsive in such a way that I *know* that the author is convinced it comes across as cute and lively. Carpe diem! Except it's not cute or lively. They're stupid and impulsive thirty-somethings.

This is such a page-turner!

It's delivering the romance I wanted, & more. The MC is the head of a spaceship crew that's like family. They met & bonded while fighting in a war against aliens. The friendship is as enjoyable as the romance. It's giving Mass Effect + slice of life.

This is exactly what I wanted (and was told I would get) from Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series - which in comparison to this is like dry, unseasoned chicken.

Started this book before bed. Before I knew it, i made it through 80 pages before even glancing at the number. Normally, I'm compulsively checking which page I'm on the entire time I'm reading a book, so the fact that I didn't do this speaks to how thoroughly engrossing The Bourbon Thief is.

This book has been so forgettable that I completely forgot i was reading it for 2 whole months lmao.

I'll probably continue, but I think this is definitely an example of a book that is way overhyped.

My new year's resolution is not to force myself to slog through books that don't offer me anything.

I'm about 1/3 through and considering DNFing because the female protagonist does and says so many goddamn stupid and cringy things that I just...don't think I can stomach this for the rest of the series.

70 pages later and Elisa has yet to spare a thought to how she treated the kitchen staff. She has instead spent most of her time contemplating her beauty (or lackthereof, in her opinion), thinking about her crushes, and comparing her appearance to the women around her. She's vain and shallow to the max, and I have come to the conclusion that the author meant to portray her shitty actions as justified. Fucking ew.

so far this is being portrayed as the right thing to do.

it's so boring. i have read maybe a hundred pages and nothing has happened. there are way too nany chracters and the perspective shifts way too often.
