respectfully, this isn’t for me

not for me! and that’s okay 😌

it’s a good book but i spent too long deciphering the medical jargon heavy intro and wore myself out by the time i got to the good stuff. ah well!

either i was smarter in year 12 or i had a better reader’s guide, bc i do not have the brainpower for this book on my own

i do think the beginning is ROUGH and i would hardly call it well written, but it builds up solid momentum and we love a conspiracy and it was the perfect read for a sick gal (me)

ANT COMPUTER!!!

i'm giving up on a lot of books recently and as the only common factor in these decisions i'm blaming myself (also the books are boring)

oh man, not good. donated at my local op shop within 3 days of buying it.

so so boring

years of assassin’s creed and listening to my dad recap ‘the borgias’ prepared me well, and yet i still got overly tired at niccolo’s recounting of ancient battles. i just don’t care what longnamines did for the carthaginians, SORRY.

i know i’m barely into this and i’m sure i’m on the cusp of it getting good but i’ve struggled for weeks and it’s time to let go

hmm, don’t ask me why i thought alderton was dolly parton’s maiden name. i cannot tell you why.

book is good but i’m not vibing with the way the research is recounted. just a bit dry and i’m struggling to stay engaged.

i did the thing where i put the book down and then never came back. oops.

unfortunately this is a dnf because 1. it made me sad and 2. it made me real sad.

it just didn’t hook me

i literally cannot read anymore, my eyes refuse to take in the words. i’m finally at the exciting part, 5000 years into the future, and i am so unbelievably bored and bogged down by dry explanations of how everything works. this would be excruciating as an audiobook.

it’s not bad per sé but i’m not loving it and i really wanna LOVE a book right now

i don’t think it’s bad but it’s reeeeaaal cynical, and i’m just not in the mood for that right now

simply must be put down because i was really hoping for a more factual approach, whereas this is sort of… anecdotal. it’s not bad, just not what i’m looking for.

finished in one day, always a good sign! i’m gonna call this one: a fun book! i liked when they kissed!
