I’m genuinely surprised. How could this well-known writing duo be behind this story?
It’s not my first time reading their work, so I was expecting something in line with their usual style. However, this book feels completely different. I find myself puzzled, because the story so far is… well, a bit dull. I’m hoping things will pick up in the second half, but at this point, I’m underwhelmed.

It’s not my first time reading their work, so I was expecting something in line with their usual style. However, this book feels completely different. The writing approach is so unusual for them that I actually checked multiple times to make sure I wasn’t reading the wrong book.

I'm only at the beginning of a book.
I'll just say that I've been avoiding reading anything by this author for a long time.
The reason is that the New Species series, the only good thing I read from her, everything after that was kind of boring.
This is probably the last attempt and the last chance before I declared the end of this "relationship" for all time. 🤷‍♀️
