second book in the series, the plot has many interesting twists and turns

This book is a volume in the Oxford History of the United States. To date, this series has consistently provided well written and informative volumes. The topic of this volume is American foreign relations beginning in 1776. I am reading about many events that I am familiar with from a different perspective. This is a good book so the fact that it is very long is a plus.

This is one of the few books about the ratification of the Constitution throughout the thirteen states. I have a print and audio edition of the book and read and listened to it. The next step is writing a review.

John Keegan says this three volume work is the authoritative history of the origins of WWI. This volume begins at the Conference of Berlin in 1875 and goes to the eve of the killing in Sarajevo. The page total is for all three volumes. It is an excellent book and I am learning a lot. I know very little about this era. I wonder how long it will take me to finish all three volumes?
