I lost interest in the book and gave it back to the library.

I stopped reading. I love the Jesse Stone series movies. The sticatto dialogue in the movies is charming. It is, on the other hand, hard to read. It comes across as flat and robotic. So, back to Tom Sellick.

Worst book I've read this year. I'm at page 66 and am tired of reading about the perverted sex life of a 16 year old dancer.

I'm 81% into this book and still haven't found a story. This is flattest writing! No character charm or humor. I just read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and boy, this writer needs help. I quit, and I hate to do that. Damned if I'll buy the series.

I just read Casindra Lost by Marti Ward. I am SOOOOO glad to be back with Richard Parry.

I hope Mastai lives to be 100 and writes his ass off because I'm going to read every one of his books. I'm also going to check out the TV and movies he's worked on and I don't even like TV. So far, amusing. His style kind of reminds me of Tom Robbins.

I got bored with the repetitious plot... maybe I’ll finish it someday.

Wow. I just realized that I’m only 15% into this book. Am I into it? No. I keep waiting for who I think is the main character, Swan, to develop. Nada. She is a self absorbed, mind numbingly flat creature. The world building is interesting and appears to be based on current science. But I don’t appreciate having my dictionary open to look up words all too frequently. Who is that supposed to impress?

Book 1 of 6 completed. I won’t be spending any more time on this series. I guess I’m used to Dalzelle and Parry - guys that put some color into their clever dialogue. The writing just seemed flat to me and the science was way out there. Sorry. Must be a mood cuz lots of people like it.

I think I'll set this book aside for awhile because I just can't get into James. The slow development/explanation of his issues with memory and strength are frustrating. The dialogue, as a result of lack of character development, is flat. Any interesting dialogue that Noa attempts is squished by James. I'm spoiled by Richard Parry and GS Jenssen I guess. My middle school grandson my like the book.

I'm only on Page 22 and already I know I'm going to like this author. Onward!

I’m not challenged by this read and am thinking of moving onto something more interesting. The prose is simple, like second grade. The story telling is like a Jean Auel book. Trying to get into it but struggling...

Good read. Love the character development.
