It's been a hot minute since I've read a Melissa de la Cruz novel and so far, I'm liking the start of this one. I'm only two chapters in, though lol.

This is officially my least favorite book in the series. I like Bennett, but Kira... idk. I don't see the chemistry, tbh.

Ben's cousin buying him lube for Christmas when he was 16 isn't that funny. Why is she almost falling off the couch in laughter over it. 😒

I've literally only read the prologue and I'm already a crying mess. Just... poor Jonah.

He's talking about his mother, Bea. All those times he brought up his mother on the car ride home weeks ago, and the first person you think he's talking about is a girlfriend? Y'all, I think she's stupid. 🫠

Ain't no way Bea thinks reality TV is REAL. She thinks the RHNY is actually unscripted. This girl is in LAW SCHOOL at NYU. Is she stupid?

Im only on chapter 3 and already I'm not the biggest fan of the fmc. She has the audacity of calling others pretentious (the mmc mainly) and she's the most pretentious fucking person in this book with her judgmental opinions about other writers, both well known and not.

I literally got this book delivered to my doorstep today, and I knew the second I started reading it that I'd be eating it up in a couple days. That's the power of Abby Jimenez's writing; it sucks you in. 🙂‍↕️

This is why I hate the miscommunication trope. Both of these characters aren't telling each other anything, being honest, so they're making assumptions about the other that just aren't true.

Also, Roxie, there's plenty of pride in working retail. You're being just as judgmental as you think Louis is. Get your head out of your ass bc what the fuck.

First book I picked up for 2025. I haven't read YA in a hot minute.

I haven't read a Nicholas Sparks book in years because the last one I read, the ending pissed me off, and also at the time, it felt like he was just writing books for the sole purpose of having them turn into movies and it was so obvious. But this one caught my eye, and I'm... liking it so far? Let's keep the momentum going. 💪

Oh man, mutual pining. Both characters have seemingly been in love with each other since they met in college, but looks like Kit got to Darcy first before Hayden could get up the courage, and now Darcy thinks all Hayden "dates" are brunette supermodels like there isn't a reason for that. Oh, this is gonna hurt so good.

Only 13 pages in, and why do I feel like Miller being groped by some random dude she worked with was a bit forced? Like, I know sexist/misogynistic men exist in the culinary world, but- 🥴

Also, why did I think this book was a gay romance just bc one mc is named Miller? 😭

Indy is so fucking desperate for Ryan's dick, it's so annoying. She's not even trying to learn how to be alone because she's too worried if Ryan likes her for real or not. Am I even gonna be able to finish this? I guess we'll see.

Indy is still annoying, and I still feel like Ryan is giving in way too quickly to her demands despite his obvious discomfort. Nobody else seems to care but me. 😒

I don't really like Indy in this one as much as I kind of liked her in Mile High. She's a guest in Ryan's home, and she's already imposing changes to his apartment on him? Who does that? The way Ryan talks about his need for control, he reads like he has un/diagnosed OCD, and when he tried to confront her about it, he just... doesn't.

And, don't even get me started with Indy's unrealistic book bf obsession.
