This book was incredibly slow. The prologue immediately sucks you in and then after that there is at least two parts worth of filler text until it actually gets good. Also I don’t really understand the ending or necessarily feel that it’s ended and I don’t think a sequel to this would be necessary.

I’m really intrigued with this series. I’m excited to read the next one and to see how Jessie grows as a character, as a profiler and to see what’s to come of the story line with her dad.

I thought this book was amazing. I read it in just a couple of days, 1) because each chapter was a quick read due to length but 2) each chapter left me needing to know more. I will say it became predictable at times, but it was interesting to read what felt like a present day version of the handmaids tale.
