Sara Marks is starting Toxic Positivity: Keeping It Real in a World Obsessed with Being Happy
DNF - interested in the topic but this was too Self-Help adjacent. I was hoping for more research-centric.

I'm not sure I can finish this. Dead animals are usually a hard no for me and this has a lot of them.

Someone remind me - I'm not a YA reader nor do I like Sense and Sensibility... even modernizations.

It doesn't seem to be much about Lucretia as it does about her entire family. I wanted to know about her.

Sara Marks is 50% done with The Rules of Magic (Practical Magic, #0.2)
Ok- has anyone else realized the dates/ages don't work? Practical Magic takes place in, at best, the mid-90s and Sally seems to be about 30 when the later plot starts. She would have to be born in the mid-60s when Regina - her mother- is born. This is all a mess.

I'm still enjoying it but damn it!

Listening to the audiobook because Richard Amritsar is the reader. I have no regrets.

Fuck if I don't love a story within a story... Bonus that its a homage to classic mystery books. I have my theories about the Pund mystery. I can't wait to get to the Conway mystery.

Sara Marks is 50% done with The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History
It took him 1/3 of the book to get to the Influenza outbreak. The first third was spent exploring the history of medical education in the US, US politics leading up to WWI, and what a virus is. All insightful but not what I was looking for the book to cover.
The second third seems to be focused on the outbreak in the US, which is far more interesting.

This book was published in the last year but keeps references that it's 2000. Did I miss something? Valentine has a flip phone and they're all amazed, nobody having one yet.
Otherwise enjoying!
