Cole can die in a ditch for all I care. He views himself as meek and sad, while actually his wife was. He doesn't communicate well and just wants his way.

The male narrator is making me so angry. The author really captured the essence of a man who does not understand that he is the problem quite well and also not too on the nose.
He is always the innocent one, but repeatedly crosses the boundaries of the women surrounding him, displays controlling behaviour and explains away his inappropriate or inconsiderate actions. It truly is infuriating to listen to him.

I'm grappling with the question of me not being the target audience or the book just not being that good. I sadly believe that it is both. Still going to finish it though.
