Worth reading. More like a story than an academic text which makes it interesting in its own context.

This book is more theoretical than the other ones which is why it's taking me longer than usual to finish it. It's less historical that the ones I read by Pappe which helps me to look at different aspect of the whole Israel/Palestine conflict.

Until now one of the most interesting things he explained and I am personally very interested to know more about is the different dynamics which exist/existed in Palestinian community and how we can sometimes differentiate them by factors like location e.g. people who live in Palestinian part or people who live in the the occupied part of the country.

My response to racism is anger. I have lived with that anger, ignoring it, feeding upon it, learning to use it before it laid my vision to waste. Once I did it in silence, afraid of the weight. My fear of anger taught me nothing. Anger expressed and translated into action in the service of our vision and our future is a liberating and strengthening act of clarification. Anger is loaded with information and energy

“Collective suffering is also a core component of the global political economy. There is a market for suffering: victimhood is commodified. This commodification of suffering does not mean that all narratives have value or even equal value: following Judith Butler, some forms of suffering more than others will be repeated, as they can more easily be appropriated as ‘our lose’.”

Oh my, the things you think you know but when you really go deep in it you realize you didn't know enough! Emotionally it's a hard read but very well written and gives you a great detail about the ethnic cleansing of Palestine!

"There is a famous Jewish maxim that one should look for one's lost key where it was lost and not where there is light. In many ways, the so-called peace process in Palestine, with the concept of the two-state solution as its benchmark, has been a futile search under a powerful streetlamp far away from the lost key."

I'm enjoying this alot. till this page, they talked about the history of the Palestine and Israel and now Ilan Pappe is talking about his experiences as an Israelis and raised in their education system which is very biased about the occupation of Palestine, Dahhhh!
They also discussed the solution of two-state/one state which is very interesting to see how it functions based on different perspectives!

I'm starting a new reading series abut Palestine and the occupation of Palestine. Ilan Pappé and Noam Chomsky are two of my favorite authors around the topic of Palestine!
Book starts with a great article by Ilan Pappé and he looks into three different temporal zones. The Past, The present and The future. And he also challenges the idea of so called peace process in the occupation of Palestine! Which I love!

Such an amazing book. I just finished the chapter 4 & 5 which basically talks about the commodification of labour power. It's important for us to have a dialectic analysis of social relations when we are trying to understand the commodification of labour power.
