Amazing! I thought the movie strong but the book exceeds it by far. I tried The Marriage Portrait but couldn’t get into it. By contrast, o’Farrell’s lyrical prose and character development swept me away. I was more emotionally engaged than I have been with any fiction in many months. Now I am ready to try her latest novel.

A fun romp through Tuscan sun (and briefly elsewhere). A handful of women and a few men dance dreamily through beautiful settings and engage in exquisite meals. Meyer teaches her readers about Italian culture in the process.

Moving memoir, poetically written. Amazing that a figure so young already possesses such insight about her past experiences in a quickly-changing Pakistan.
