Too poor for Kindle Unlimited right now. So I’m reading what I own.

I am moving to StoryGraph. Jeff Bezos's decision to stop all DEI efforts in his companies is a choice I will not support. It's going to be hard to completely remove Amazon from my book reading habits I'll still do what I can. Send me a message and I'll let you know what my username is at StoryGraph.

So far I am not enjoying moving from group to group multiple times in one chapter.

DNF at59% - the book is still in the grieving process for the dead alphas. It’s a good representation of grief and grieving but not where my head needs to be.

First trigger warning update - SA *in a mental health facility by orderlies* so that would also add in forced medical experimentation, and forced institutionalization.

Is it sad to say that something like any taboo enough? That’s what this books suffers from. The pieces are all here for a great story, but it didn’t come together well.

I’m starting to wonder why people call this dark.

I've been trying to read a ton of books but am just not feeling it/ So I've returned all my Kindle Unlimited books, marked them as want to read, and have returned to Court of Wing and Fury. It's one of my favorite comfort books.

Next thought - there is something uneven about the characters in this book. I think it’s Bonnie being a cross between a Mary Sue and a character that would fit with Beau.

Another thing that seems odd is how Hal, Bonnie’s dad, reacts to all of this. I’m from a small, rural, tourist town in Montana. Had a man come after me the was Beau does with Bonnie? My dad would have taken a shotgun after him.

First issue is the “warning” that makes fun of trigger warnings. Those types of statements are getting to be a one star review and quit for me.

Sorry for all the adds on my want-to-read list. I found a subreddit for romance books and they have crazy good suggestions.
