I’m very irritated with the book right now, just like the last book did. I’m hoping that it ties up nicely or I’ll be pissed.

I’m struggling with the audiobook narrator change. I really liked Lesley Manville. Fiona Shaw will take some getting used to.

I feel very unintelligent listening to this book. It does t follow the back cover blurb so far. I’m still sticking to it, hoping that it will make sense by the end…

So far this is a meandering backstory of how Precious became the first/only woman PI in Botswana. At first, I was confused by the change from the strong beginning; but the narrator’s voice and the prose itself are lyrical. Something that invites you in and captures your attention even if it wasn’t the element that had drew you in the 1st place.

Instantly interesting, hooked me from the back cover blurb.

Love that there are more narrator voices for the different characters. The voice for Sheriff Hudson is 🔥

The line about “being slippery enough to slip through a boba straw,” after 3 hours of pampering made me laugh. How I would love to achieve that level!
