I’ve barely had time to sit down with this but was able to do that for a couple of hours yesterday. Yes it was the 4th of July. We all celebrate in different ways.
Lots of details that weren’t in the books, and about locusts and bad information put out by yes the government and also railroads.

So far I’m not embarrassed to be reading it

About 5 hours into the audiobook. I’m still enjoying the 🔥 out of this. I suppose it’s YA but I don’t care. More misappropriation of folk/myth/lore but I don’t care. It reminds me a bit of Frozen River, which I adored.

It’s going to be difficult to stop listening and function. I’ll have to think about why.

I need to get this back from library. Hearing dear Mr Lynch reading is comforting

These people should not have had kids and they had TWELVE. I’m most upset about the (two, born last) daughters though.

Don’t let the cover art put you off, this is excellent

Super disjointed like Big Engine, but more memorable in gore and its preposterous conclusion. Still, sweet in parts and oddly endearing. Some incredibly gnarly descriptions of both bonkers mythology and revolting gastronomy.

Oops I forgot I returned YOU because it was creepy and bad. But I’m intrigued so far. I’m about 2 hours into the audiobook.

I gave up on this. It made me hate people.
