Now it's starting to get really interesting.

The tension is almost excruciating inside the submarine. It's like a game of cat and mouse aboard the nuclear tin can.

Interesting, so far. Hopefully, this will get me out of my reading slump.

The Arachnids in this book don't screw around. Spiders are supposed to be harmless, supposedly more afraid of you. Well, these hairy little motherfuckers didn't get the memo, that's for sure. I think I'm going to have some vivid nightmares tonight.

This book is very intriguing, so far.

Well, one mystery is solved: who 'The Shepherd' is. Actually, quite a few revelations have emerged. And who/what is Woodrow? Something, I guess - but is it something of this world?

Now it's getting more interesting - and creepier. The history of the submerged old town beneath Chapel Lake is intriguing, as well.

I just bought the Kindle edition of this book - uber cheap.

This book is insane - and the early revelation surprised me.

Fuck. One of my favourite characters has expired - and the emotional content was stretched out to the max - where there was hope and then........

I'm starting to like Lieutenant Rachel Davis - despite her recent change of eye colour from blue to green. I still don't know how that happened.

Interesting. The Variants aren't the only ones going through some kind of metamorphosis: as it seems Lieutenant Rachel Davis is as well. She no longer has cool, crystal blue eyes; now they're a piercing green in colour. How does that happen? And how the hell did I even notice? No one on the USS George Washington seems to have noticed the change. Maybe they will if they turn daffodil yellow.

The human collaborators are as bad as the Variants.

The Variants are evolving at an alarming rate - plus they're breeding, as witnessed by a marine recon team. That must have been fun to watch....
