I read. Sometimes for pleasure, other times for knowledge, oftentimes in hopes of wisdom, hopefully rarely out of obligation, an never out of that which kills the love of reading completely: shame or embarrassment. I have no problem closing a book I find awful, aiming to spend my time on that which I find lovely, rather than wasting it on that which I abhor.
