Constance Colthorp is starting North and South
Chapter 7. I love her writing style and how fluid it is. Evidently Dickens reviewed chapters of her book as she submitted them to a publication. She’s covering some tough content for the time. I’ve seen the movie on Netflix and loved it, but the book goes so much deeper into the feelings and nuances of her parents and why they moved. For me, it’s like a blend of Jame Austen and Charles Dickens.

This is a fascinating story that needed to be told! It’s both thorough and a smooth read.

Constance Colthorp is finished with White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism
Decent. A good primer for white people who haven't thought much about this or think that they aren't racist. A good way to empathize with the day to day challenges of being judged by your color and the presumptions that go with it. There are criticisms of this book. There may be some blanket statements by the author, but I think it serves a good purpose.
