Wow, I've really be slacking on reading this summer. But, I've started studying herbalism and all that encompasses, so it's really more that I've been book hopping on my path to enlightenment. ;)

So far 2 of the 4 I've read have me wanting more. But they are expensive for Kindle books, so I may be searching the library's shelves.

I just discovered that Goodreads has genre shelves that give pretty good descriptions of what is included. For an unpublished writer in the ever-changing world of publishing, this is an invaluable tool

I took it back to the library.

I have been reading this book for over a week now, and I just can't get into it. Perhaps the issue is that it is so different from the movie--which I loved. Or maybe it's that Hoffman tells her stories instead of showing. Either way, I may not make it through. There are way too many other books on my TBR list more worthy.

I try to use reading as a reward for getting things done, especially working on my own stories, but it never seems to work out. I'm the kid who wants the ice cream before I clean my room.

I was captivated right away! Drake is a fabulous author with a refreshing new voice. I love the correctness of her ranch animal situations. Her writing feels so REAL. She is definitely a new favorite for me.

Fabulous read. Real characters with real problems. Not overly saturated with sex like so many other romances. (In fact, no sex in the first 168 pages.)
