On one hand, I really want Jacks and Evangeline to kiss. On the other, I don't want her to die. And Jacks obviously desperately doesn't want her to die to possess such control over himself. Here's me hoping Jacks will fall in love with her, love turns him human, as human his kiss is no longer deadly and he and Evangeline can live happily even after

When Jacks said to Evangeline "Ballads never end happily, everyone knows that" I thought about the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, thinking of Lucy Gray and how my wishful thinking for her survival might have been wrong. But maybe I should've been paying more attention to the title of this book.

Jacks either at least knew the Fox or he's the Archer.

The Ballad in the title is making me worry for Evangeline

I was taken aback by bird people.

I was ready to quit when the main character suddenly mastered her power, without any training beforehand whatsoever, and accepted those who kidnapped her and keep her in the dark about what's going on as her people and her ship.

Gave it one last chance. Not sure I'll read the next book in the series

I really like the writing style

After having just finished The Stolen Heir duology, this is so much more nicely written

When I started reading this book, there were 7 billion people on the planet. Now there are 8 billion. Hopefully, I'll finish it before we reach 9 billion.

Of course they cut they chain, I could've told them they would cut the chain. I really thought they knew how much of a weak spot it was and that Lucy would free the Skull to protect it. Really, she should've freed him for the battle.

Theory n. 1) Penelope is evil and wants all of them dead, either because she doesn't want them poking around her secrets or because she knows about the Skull which knows more than it has shared.

Theory n. 2) Orpheus society isn't one that researches the Problem, it's the one that knows how it all began.

Page 66. That's the page when an explanation is finally given for the last words of the previous book. I definitely skipped ahead when I picked up this book (as soon as I finished the second one) and realized the story I wanted was not told anywhere in the first chapter

I am actually really surprised Pamela Joplin is actually Albert Joplin in the books. I don't understand why they changed this in the show, especially considering her relationship with George was ..weird

i want to move on from this series but if i don't read this now, i never will

The past 2 books were from Lena's point of view only, but this book suddenly has multiple point of views? Nothing good can come out of it. Same thing happened with the Divergent books and look how that ended up. I just hope I'm wrong

don't like the time skipping. just when i get into the current storyline, it changes

this part reminded me of the song Trampoline by SHAED, but thinking more about it, theme wise, the song is actually a good match for the book
