Finished book 1 of 3 in the Chronicles. Decent story. Lots of dungeon delving and fights with Draconians and Dragons. It’s an entertaining read so far. Book one did leave off on a cliffhanger, so I’m looking forward to reading more about the adventures of Tanis and crew.

Still going well. The party had a fight with a handful of lizard men clerics. From the description, I’m not sure if they were D&D troglodytes, some humanoid creature only in the Krynn realm, or something only found in the book.

So far so good. Introduced to some characters. The foreword gave a good setup of what to expect and there’s already been a goblin beheading. So I’m locked in for the ride right now.

Simple primer and overview of the more well known mythological characters of the Greek pantheon. Wish I would have read this a long time ago when I was first getting into mythology.

Still a good book. Haven't caught on to the "purpose" of the book, yet. Shadow just seems to be moving around, keeping a low profile, and meeting random gods from different pantheons.

It was revealed who Wednesday is. I kind of figured it. There were so many clues. But the story is really good! Looking forward to reading more.

Mr. Wednesday showed up in a bar that Shadow stopped in. Shadow drank some mead to seal the deal to work with Wednesday. Wednesday was hanging out with a "leprechaun." (Not in the same sense as the tiny green-clothed myth) Then Shadow and the leprechaun had a fight in the bathroom. Just because. Overall, the story and pacing are good and I'm enjoying the book!

Shadow (main character and not sure if this is his real name or not) is released from jail a few days earlier than expected. His wife, whom he loves dearly, was killed in a car accident. He's on a flight, (after his original flight gets moved around due to the death.) gets bumped to first class where some guy knows his name and is offering him a job.

Already off to a good start. I'm interested to read more...

The libby version of this book does not have quotation marks or correct punctuation in it. It is very difficult to read. I'm thinking of returning it because it's nearly unreadable.

Interesting style of writing for the first 20 pages. No names. Just the narrator telling the story of "He." And "He" has a pretty dark backstory developing.

It's getting annoying that an AF has advanced intelligence but somehow can't call everyday objects, buildings, etc by their proper names. It's like the AF can learn everything but the most basics of human interaction.

It appears the big plot twist is that Josie's mother is having some dude construct an AF that looks like Josie and that Klara is somehow a key piece in that whole situation.

I don't get it. So, the AFs have an extremely broad AI, can mimic a specific human in detail down to their exact walk, vocal sounds, patterns, and even their thoughts and logic, but their developers forgot to give them a sense of smell? Seems like an easy thing to give the AFs. Especially due to the fact that we already have that technology in today's world.

Klara and Josie's mother have gone to the waterfall that Josie wanted to go to, but couldn't because her mother wouldn't let her go because she thought Josie was sick. The mother seems to be a bit of an authoritative bitch. In a weird turn of events, the mother asks Klara to "act like Josie because she misses Josie being there." What kind of stupidity is that?

Maybe I was wrong about Ricky. He helped Klara out while some other jerks were going throw her across a room at some party.

Josie is sick with some disease. Probably some form of liver cancer. It's not specific yet. She has a friend named Ricky. He seems like kind of a douche but he's Josie's neighbor and has known her for a while. He also has an issue with Josie having an AF. The book has not mentioned why some folks have issues with AFs and others do not.

Klara the AF was purchased by a girl named Josie. Klara is no longer the latest series of AFs. She is a B2 model while the B3 is the current. However, Klara has cognizant and observance skills that far surpasses the B3 models. She likes the new home. However, Melania the housekeeper does not care to have an AF roaming around the house.

Klara is an "Artificial Friend" in a store waiting for someone to purchase her. Kind of like a pet waiting to be brought home to a loving family. These AFs seem to have a conscience and Klara seems to have more self awareness than the other AFs in the store. She also seems to be able to see situations in a more human like way.

The book has picked up. The crew did battle with some necromancers. I think they came across a golem, or computer, or some automaton. Still get the feeling that the book was written to be "dark fantasy" for the sake of being dark fantasy.

It’s picked up a bit. But it seems odd that a young prince (who is 13 in the story) is just killing for the sake of killing for his kingdom. Overall, I feel like I’m missing something and this story just isn’t sinking in all the way with me.

So far… decent. I’m having a bit of a difficult time really getting into it. So far the characters don’t seem fleshed out and it’s that they’re just going around killing everything.
