this book feels like it’s designed to be made into a film I wouldn’t watch. Guess that the “twist” will be that the house they moved into was stolen from a Jewish family and extra points if Eva is the daughter of that family. Want to DNF it but I need a book to read on the bus home. This is the punishment for picking up contemporary fiction . it’s always far worse than I expect.

starting a new book when I have four half started, because I’m sick. both in the head and with a cold. I feel a real pressure to not take half read books into the new year which means I will have to tote them all with me to Paris.

left this on the first leg of a 2-flight journey and spent the next flight from brussels to london cursing myself and listening to a really unfunny and boring stavros halkios podcast

this is such slow going because I don’t know anything about cricket.

need to stop picking up books just because I’m too lazy to go and find the other book I’m reading. this book has no right to be as boring as it is.

I don’t know if I’ll finish this purely because I have an ebook and I can never ever motivate myself to read on my laptop. maybe if I get a physical copy.
