Still reading the sample from Amazon, and I've got to say it's very impressive. It's the book I was looking for. Intelligent, well written, with a touch of humour.

An enjoyable book of short stories that blend: science, mathematics, philosophy, and fables into lessons on the history of the universe. Cleverly written and surprising at times I also found them to be a bit repetitive. By far the best story of the lot was, The Distance of the Moon, a touching love triangle with much humour and truth. Well worth the read on a rainy day.

With characters based around mathematical formula and the insight of gods, Calvino explores the universe from the very beginings of time. Exquisitely done with a poetic language like no other he fashions tales that not only amaze and delight but also teach.

yes, finally a Jon chapter.

Yes still plugging away at this old chestnut. its picked up again, and intrigue has trapped me in its delicate web yet again.

have waxed and waned a little with this, some chapters I find almost dull, while others I thoroughly enjoy and long to get back into the story. Tyrone & John are my favourite ones.

Quite good so far, albeit a little slow in parts.

thoroughly written, and overly complex in nature, several small, odd, bits.
