I'm not sure the narrative style of this book is a good match for audiobooks, though the narrator is excellent. Themes and touchphrases that would charm me in print, annoy me in audio. (His mother has cool hands. She lost the house in London. It was a sanctuary).

This is one of the best uses of character voice I've read in years. Reminds me strongly of Sunshine by Robin McKinley.

How to create and maintain plot tension without a Big Misunderstanding! Characters who actually talk about stuff! I love this book.

I really love this heroine - she wouldn't go without her dog! (I'm a cat person, but hey, animal lovers FTW!)
