I found the first two stores, Weeping Woman Way and Madonna, to be really good. Didn’t want to stop midway and was enthralled by their strangeness the whole time. The third story, The Spirit Flow of Aokigahara, didn’t land as well for me.

“I do not know how to define myself by my looks. I still don’t.” It took me a while to get here. I do think there’s a general vibe these days. For work attire: sweater vests? And then my every day clothes are “preschool teacher brights”

I’m finding the main character to be “sadder” than me but simultaneously relatable. Starting at their “asses and their legs” and noticing “gay female couples”

Just finished Pt II. This book is like a black mirror episode, so disturbing yet I keep going

The older actions and speaking of a small baby, one with oversized teeth and piercing eyes is more horrific than most of what I’ve read

I am deeply unsettled by what just happened. A 3 month old speaking, and horrific first words at that after maiming her older brother
