This author is weird (derogatory).

I am going to throw up.

Not to make everything gay any time I can but will they ever realize they're in love with each other?

Gonna put this read on pause for a bit cause A Little Life is taking A Little Long to get through.

:(

Why did he decide to write this as a conversation (monologue, really, since the other person has only said two words in between his 23 PARAGRAPHS of dialogue) instead of just a retelling of events to the reader? That detail changes the tone of what's being said and it's throwing me completely out of the story because no one talks like this!!!

Editor?? Did the editor read this??? What is happening?

"Here is a common tragedy. Wiser and less intransigent, the woman in love resigns herself. She is not all, she is not necessary: it is enough for her to be useful; another can easily take her place: she is satisfied to be the one who is there. She recognizes her servitude without asking for reciprocity." Gross.

"the father, as head of the family, is above all a citizen: his authority is unlimited, he rules absolutely over wife and children; but they are not his property; rather, he administers their existence for the public good; the woman, who brings his children into the world and whose domestic duties often extend to agricultural tasks, is very useful to the country and deeply respected." Right...

I don't think Junji Ito knows how to draw a child

I need to bring these priests back to life so I can kill them with my bare hands.

Naming your kid Blessing is so beautiful
