Rereading this after many years, and it honestly feels like coming home. I always said the Faithful and the Fallen was my favourite series, and I did start to doubt myself over the years as my memories began to fade, but nope, it's just as compelling as I remember. I love the characters, I love the adventure, the balance between familiar tropes and unexpected twists... I'm having a blast and so excited for it all.

I'm not sure I'm going to finish this book. I really wanted to get to the point where it began to be enjoyable, but it's taking a long time, and I can appreciate this is a very cool and clever book in its own way, but... it's not great to read, for me at least. And my time is a bit limited. Maybe I'll come back to it one day, we'll see. Putting it aside for now.

Still struggling to see the appeal in this book. At this point I'm actually forcing myself to read this because there's almost no enjoyment so far. I don't mind some of the ideas explored, but the temptation to "skip" sections is so high when the narrator hints they are going to now explain yet another idea, with another 20 different examples from history.

Not particularly enjoying this book. I'm no stranger to classics, and I'm not intolerant to pages of description, but... so far, I really am struggling to see the appeal in Moby Dick. At 25% of the way in the book, we have only just gone onto the ocean, and I really hope it picks up from here because reading this really feels like a slog, and I don't like to give up on books but boy oh boy haha...
