I hate this style of book, but the story IS interesting

I’m really struggling with this one. It’s too sweet to me and the pat “wisdom” and wordplay are grating. I’ve made it this far. I’m going to try to finish.

This entire book seems to consist of a long series of conversations in a bedroom where everyone randomly has sex with each other and then argues about it.

10 minutes into the audiobook and there have been two mispronunciations of southern place names. “Lake Pontchartrain” was particularly shocking.

“Honey had gone bad” what? Honey doesn’t go bad.

This book is dumb. Thankfully, it’s short.

Miiiiiight end up quitting this one. It's terribly slow and boring to me.

Is the rest of this series going to be with these main characters???

This book was published in 2005. The use of slang, though, sounds like 1995. And it doesn’t age well. Super cringey.

I can’t tell if I hate this book because it’s bad or if it’s just a style I don’t appreciate.

I’m going to have to take a break and read something else for a bit.

I hate this book. No likable characters. Rampant, overt racism, homophobia, and misogyny.

And the story movement is insanely slow.

This book took a really messed up turn and I don't like any of the characters now. Ugh.

I would almost swear I’ve read this already. Fortunately, I’m enjoying it.
