Oooh, it's getting good!

I'm on the Fearless chapter, and I can't really figure out the audience for this book. I have an English degree, so exploring the literature in lyrics sounds fun. but 1. the author(s) make it feel like 10th grad English class, and I half expect an explanation of iambic pentameter to come up, and 2. they are really reaching with some of their comparisons. Not every song will have a literary comparison.

Did you know there are at least TWO Christmas books that take place in England about a woman who fake dates a guy, goes to his family's manor for the holidays, and falls in love with his sister?

Also, the blurb says the bachelor dies, and again - I'm halfway through - and (spoiler alert) dude is still alive.

I'm halfway through this book and still waiting for it to be a horror novel.

I hope Connie gets mauled by rodents.

I hate Connie. Even as an old-ass lady, I relate to the angsty teen.

She's really hung up on this 5 year age difference. On the one hand, I get it, since anyone younger than me is 12, but on the other hand, they are the same age. Five years either way is still basically the same age.

I wanted to read this BECAUSE it's like Empire Records, but damn. I'm only 4 chapters in and wonder how on earth this got published because it IS Empire Records in a book store. Seriously - how was the author allowed to do this?

I want to see this musical. I've heard so many great things about the musical. The book is not a musical.

I'm really liking this so far. I'm listening to it, and it helps that it's performed by 2 of my favorite narrators.

I'm enjoying the plot, but it desperately needs an editor!

I know she said it was like a "choose your own adventure book" and I HATED those as a kid, but I'm reading it anyway. I'm confused as all hell.

Ell-FAH-bah. She just pronounced freakin' Elphaba "Ell-FAB-bah." I'm really struggling to finish this one.

Once again, the male narrator (who is actually white in person while Darien is not white) pronounced Dalek as Day-lick. Grrrr.

This is the audiobook with repeated lines, and he freakin' mispronounced Dalek!!! I'm enjoying the book, but I don't like the male narrator. He doesn't sound 18 to me. And Elle is annoyingly a pushover, but I guess that goes with the Cinderella thing.

This isn't as good as his other books.

I just started, but damn these girls are bitches, and I'm glad they die. (It could be that I am menstrual and highly irritable right now.) The only thing redeeming these girls right now is that they remind me of Mean Girls.
