Unsure if imma finish this one. I’m over the Aiden and her smut scenes. It’s all it’s been and where are the other two guys?? What’s with all the hesitation on everyone’s part. And the story line is there in the background somewhere I know it but all we’re doing is watching Aiden and her F..

For the storyline - still interested and invested. Though again, all the characters are accepting what’s happening way too immediately and it’s annoying,

The writing is annoying me greatly but I like where the story seems to be heading so I’m trying to stick it out..

Picked up after a couple weeks, got through a couple chapters but now I’m finding her annoying in addition to the incessant sex scenes.. not holding on to much faith in finishing this one.

Getting distracted by all the sex.. again. TBD if I'll keep going
Main motivator: I want to read Dark Penitentiary and I'm sure things will happen in this book that may get brought up in that one.

First red flag - she told herself ‘I’m a good girl and I don’t do these bad things’
Annoying characteristic - She’s dating some idiot wash out that obviously doesn’t care about her but she’s still trying to ‘making it work’.
But what might get me out is the nasally male narrator for the audiobook…

A haunted house. A dead husband. A new found obsession for rough play and praise. Oh and a letter here and there from someone in prison who claims to know her..
Not sure where we’re going but the humor and intimate scenes are keeping me interested.

We were hitting such a high note, such hope and happiness. Only to crash burning to the ground more than ever. Feeling a bit devastated. Not sure how this is going to turn around. No wonder it’s 6 books long 😩

I don’t like Zed. Or Seph. They both can go away. Their focus on this book is irritating and really having me question to keep going. I keep going to see what happens with the actual plot but I know it’s going to end unresolved and that is not motivating.

So much back and forth with the feelings and decisions. On my third ‘this girl is too naive, wake up! Decide!’ Taking a break before DNF.. there’s potential here but it’s almost dragging at this point.

The proofreading errors in this are distracting! Wrong words used, sentences with words out of order, spelling mistakes. Ugh

Oh so good. A good and proper slow burn. Forbidden relationship. A secret society. Mysterious historical native culture. Witch hunts and monastery asylum evil research. A murder mystery, or four. I am impressed by all this book has going on and how seamless it’s all read. Nothing has felt clunky or out of place. I can feel everything coming together alongside a delicious steamy romance.
