It takes a lot of gumption and a fool's heart to think poetry can be zipped through like a history book or a novel. I'm pulling this one, only because I'll never be nearly finished pulling poetry in.

I've taken a break from Volume 1 to focus on Vol. 2

Chapter 1 out of the way; the commodity is use value and exchange value; simple form: 20 yards of linen = 1 coat or x commodity A = y commodity B. This is the basic and therefor the germ of the final, or money form. The last few pages of Ch. 1 deal with the fetishistic or magickal qualities of commodities. On to Ch. 2

Rereading: made it through Mandel's intro and the Prefaces again...Chapter 1 is a bitch at times.

I wonder about Baudrillard...I wonder about myself for reading this shit at times!
