Finished issue #3

I just can't with this book anymore. I'm barely a fifth of the way through, but every time I think about picking it up, I just decide to do something else. I have liked the Tom Baker novelisations and audio plays I've gotten, but this book just feels like someone describing a TV episode to me. I'm going to leave this on my list in case I decide to pick it back up after reading something else.

Honestly, I don't know if I'm going to continue reading this book. I was struggling with the writing style, and then one of the characters did something that put me off so much I put the book down for days. That's not a good sign.

Well, that was a thing. I noticed last night that there were some books that somehow I marked as having read several times this year. One was a book I didn't even read this year! After removing those mistakes, I was 8 books behind on my goal. :( But looking at the hand-written list in my bullet journal, I found a bunch of novellas I read that weren't on Goodreads at all. So I added them, and now I'm back on track.

A grown woman insisting on calling a virtual stranger "Daddy" is just grating on the nerves. I'm sure it's meant to have that effect, and it's good writing, but yechhh!

I've found that if you imagine Andy as a young child, and Hobbes as a wise, patient uncle who has taken him in, these books begin to make a bit more sense. 😂
