Being who I am and having the job I have, I have to boo this page for falling into the human exceptionalism fallacy, seemingly confusing other apes as being less-evolved humans, and denying the ability of other animals to experience complex emotions 👎

“Most people seem to think that the best route to building common ground is by emphasizing facts, rather than feelings of suffering. But most people are wrong.”

“When someone has an opinion we find immoral, we can ask ourselves, ‘What harm do they see?’” I love this

Fun spooky Halloween but since the characters are pretty demonically evil it’s hard to relate to them in any way making for a bit of a shallow read so far

Slowly bee boppin my way through this. It’s amazing. So many seemingly distinct ideas and observations that were linked together into one seamless and all-encompassing theory. presented in such a way that a lay person, who had observed and understands domestication in a general sense, can come to see how this could happen on a grand, invisible scale by natural mechanisms and create distinct species … just AMAZING
